My new RC3 came in the mail today. What a great way to come home from work!! I cut the package open with my AG Russell pocket carver (slip joint for you non-traditional guys) :D Checked it out for a bit then put it down.

Fed the boy, kissed the wife good bye (girl's night out), then put the boy down for the night.

Pep and I head out to the deck with a cigar that has been waiting for me, grabbed a Blue Moon out of the Gladiator beer fridge, and head out to play with my new RC3.

I sat back and enjoyed the smoke and drink so I didn't cut stuff up just yet, just enjoyed it. I'm heading to OBX in a couple of days so it'll get a work out then I'll make the final decision about taking the coating off.

Pep sat right by my side and chilled the entire time.

I just chilled and watched the clouds roll by. AWESOME, RELAXING NIGHT!

What did ya'll do tonight?

It is needed for the man of the house to have some lone time. I recon that is what you had. Good on you.

You won't be disappointed. I just took my kids on a short camping trip last weekend and got some great use out of both my RC-3 and my Izula. I don't think RAT Cutlery could make a bad blade if they tried.

Congrats!

very cool man... i need to get an RC-3...:)

Hey Mike - I had an RC3 a while ago and got rid of it for a few reasons, mainly because I thought it was inferior to all the other knives I saw floating around on these forums.

I then went on a buying spree trying to find that perfect knife and I found myself comparing them all to the comfort and utility of the RC3. So.... I bought another one. I can tell you if you decide to get one you will not be dissapointed, it's a damn cool knife and you can't beat the warranty.

Lets face it you are a knife collecting addict like the rest of us, but you are just trying to staying the closet with that whole 'functionality rationale'.....I say get out of the closet man. Accept having a few redundant knives around isn't such a bad thing.

After all, as great as the RC-3 is, you probably aren't going to stop buying all those pretty 3-4" bushy knives....Sorry dude....The first step is to admit you have a problem....Then learn to live with it.

Is it bad to wish your wife would do a "girl's night", sometimes it would just be nice to have a calm relaxing evening without any questions or suggestions on what "we" need to do.

Blue Moon and your RAT, dosen't get any better than that. Wait, I forgot it will More RATS and Blue Moon.

I have an 18 month old, and enjoy it when situations similar to yours happen. Nothing like some good quiet time with your dog and knives.
