Just got it from Shomer Tec. Saw another post where someone said they had'em, and had their catalog nearby. Placed the order last Monday and it came today (Monday). Not bad for the Christmas season. The knife looks great. It came in a nice little fleece lined case (not that I'll use it), it fits the hand well, the blade looks nicely polished, the action is very smooth, I love the thumbhole, the clip is hardly noticeable, the blade has a phenomenal edge to it, all in all a beautiful job SRKW!!!

I've not been on the forums too long, but have learned a lot just by reading what you all have been posting. I've been a fanatic all my life about a sharp edge and good steel in a knife and finally found a place where there are others who think like me. The posts are what got me to buy the folder. If the rest of the SRKW is anything like this I guess I'll have to try a few of them out. Being an aspiring Busse piglet (waiting for the infi folder too!) and having two of Jerry's creations it just means my money is going to be spread a lot thinner! Lets see, Busse, Swamprat, Buck, where to spend it???

You would be much better off concentrating your funds on the Rat line. :D

Penny for penny the rat will stretch copper a lot farther. I mean whats better 1 knife with a lifetime warranty or 3 knives for the same price with lifetime warranties.
Go rats

BTW I should mention, I am kinda rough on steel. I am hesitant to use them as prybars but I do give them a good work out:

And yes it went through that knot and this is all the wood could say about it:

Nice pics. How long did it take to get through the knot and was the razor edge maintained?

The edge stayed sharp, I have never been able to get a razor edge on it though. If I remember Correctly it took about 15 minutes of heavy (and I mean real heavy) batoning. I ended up with a very sore hand, felt kinda like I bruised the bone. Its amazing the abuse these knives can take, I have no doubt that I would have broke my BK9 if I would have tried that with it. The really amazing one was that tree in the first pic. It was blown over by the hurricane style winds we had here and It was still very green. I think it took about a half hour to go through it. I took a friend out there with me the next time I went out there, we had my RD and FSH. It took us about a half hour alternating between the 2 of us to get through the log again. It seems like when chopping hardwood the knife just sharpens itself on the wood because the knife remains real sharp, sometimes sharper than when you start. I must say that really Great blades come out of Wausen:D

I'm interested in this folder too
Is it resembles Millie (yet thinner, harder and better made)?
What is the liner thickness? How reliable is the lock?
I like Rat trap
Seems like perfect EDC to me

The knife came hair shaving sharp. I am real pleased with it. Haven't done any heavy work yet, but it cut some backboards free of their boxes at the firehall the other night, and had no problem going through the cardboard.

I was on the horn today with Shomer Tec to check stock on another item and got to talking about the Rat Trap with the salesperson and he mentioned they have only six left! If you're still wantin' one, I'd give 'em a call!

If you like large folders that fill your hand like a Glock 21 these are for you. :D
