Whoa,
This thing is surprisingly light in the hand. Anyone else notice that when holding one? It looks like it should be heavy, but it feels very quick.
I cant wait to get out and use it for real.
I haven't gotten to play with it yet, since I just got home from work, and just un-boxed it, and took pics.
Removed the grips and put Micarta on it, and low and behold, underneath there was a piece of tape with the number 258, and on the tang was etched 258 under the epoxy paint.
It was mildly challenging to get the bolts in the Micarta, but some very careful drilling removing epoxy from inside the bolt holes got me squared away.
This thing is like brand new, no marks on the epoxy, the original grips were very rough, and thinner than the new style.
It needs a sharpening and the sheath could use 2 retention straps at the break, but its nicely made and good quality leather.
I cant decide if I need to call Azwelke or one of our local leather workers for this. I might talk to Skystorm since hes getting Clich's to make a sheath from ..lol.
I am trying to decide if I want to strip the epoxy coat or not.
I would have gone right out my door and chopped a tree, but I dont want to freak the normals.
