New RC-3 and 2 Izulas....very sharp

Hey all. Finally picked up a trio of RATs last week (from Knife Works and they are top notch BTW) and they are nice. Purchased a RC-3 w/ orange G10 handles and desert tan and pink Izulas. Love the size of both blade styles, just wish the G10 was a lil more aggressive. Well I also like to be crafty and picked up some Kydex and wanted to make a foldover sheath for the Izula. Everything started off great, had the blade taped up and everything, but I took off the tape and my gloves and things went downhill from there. Formed the sheath and it looked tight, so tight it took a lil work to get the blade out. I tried to pull it out the top and it came out the side exactly where my left index finger was...well one ER visit and five stitches later I came home and finished the sheath.:) Anyway thats my story and yes I had a huge COTDA that day, first time in 36 years I've had stitches I'm usually pretty careful or just too stubborn to go to the doc. Moral of the story....none, but those RATs are sharp out of the package be careful.
 
I think we're going to start making our knives without edges. :D
 
I never resheath my knives unless they draw blood first so stitches are just the name of the game for me.:D

Congrats on the new steel and welcome to the ever expanding RAT pack.

maybe that's because Tar Heel fans don't know that you are suppose to remove the knife from the sheath before cutting with it?

Glad too see the man is an NCAA expert too! Its OK River Rat I can handle a Heels fan, its just that other NC team I can't take...still remember 28 March 1992!

I take some ribbing by Derrick since he is a Sooner and I am from Texas
But I could careless,I dont care for sports if it aint pro...NHL,NFL MLS,Women's Pro Beach Volleyball . :D

Awe-man not even Women's Pro Beach Volleyball ..... I must shame you ;).... women...swim suits... jumping around...playing in the sand...touching each other..... I know I am sick :D LOL
 
Perfect example of Hijacking a thread.... went from OP purchasing some new RC blades to sports to women ....

That was a smooth transition, I wonder what's next. We have yet to mention cars (The corvette Z28 is pretty sexy), movies ( Was Angelina Jolie in a bad movie?), or hiking ( Who would you rather take hiking, Jessica Alba or Jessica Simpson?) :D
 
I don't follow any sports at all. Never cared for them. Now Tony's women's beach ball bustin may be something to watch though

I know what you mean, I occasional watch to see which brand of sunglasses they're wearing.

Dang, it took me 5 minutes to see that they had on sunglasses.

BTW GO HEELS... they are whooping up on Duke right at the moment.
I work right beside the Durham Bulls park, from our break room we can see the field. Pretty cool for day games!
