I apologize if this is the wrong spot, not sure where to put this... Anyway here it is! My mule team M390 with new redwood burl scales and some mosaic pins. Did it myself the other day, about 11 coats of pure tung oil and 15 coats of wax and a 12000 grit hand polish. I left the inclusion because i thought i gave a little character to it, like a birthmark of sorts. What do you chaps think?

Also this is my second attempt at knife photography, I have no lightbox, be nice

Jaw-dropping and stunning. Hands-down, that's the nicest Spyderco I've ever seen.

I have a mule coming in the mail this week! I'm so stoked! Yours looks outstanding! So many exclamation points!!!!

THAT. LOOKS. AWESOME. Where did you get the scales and pins from? That would look great on the Cruwear mule team I plan on getting.

Thanks so much guys! It was my first try and I did my best to do a good job. Im really glad other people like it.

xjzhx, its a really fun project, make some cool handles! Exclamation points!!!

That is sweet! Congrats on that one.

Beautiful work! Beautiful materials and a nice job on those pins. I'm liking it a lot. Mike

@kevinoubre I dont recall where i got the slabs from but ill check my emails am pm you when I find out.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! I think ill buy another one or two and give another go, its such a comfy shape. I made sure it was plenty thick and really fills the hand. It smells good to haha

It does kind of look prehistoric, Awesome!

Anyone have sheath suggestions? I feel like kydex would not fit the look well but im not confident I can pull off leather, Ive never done it before...

That looks great! A leather sheath is actually easier than you'd think. There's a pretty good tutorial which is the first hit if you google "leather sheath tutorial" that I used having never made a sheath before, and it was very easy to follow. Give it a go!

I hope the wood is stabilized. Redwood burl is really soft and I would hate such a nice looking knife to get all dinged up the first time you carry it.

Also, I would probably round the edges a little more next time. Not trying to be negative, just a little constructive criticism. Looks great.

Ill look into the leather tutorial, sounds good.

Yes it is stabilized and started as a rock hard block! And as far as looks go, yeah more rounded would be smoother looking but I went for this shape mostly for comfort. I fondled it for hours getting it just right, and it fits my hand perfect that way, nice and fat :). I appreciate the honesty though!

great looking knife, and pretty darn impressive for a first go at it. I think the Lanyard hole could've been more centered but that's just me

Outstanding workmanship. The "inclusion" on the lower left scale has a "Cat's Paw Print" appearance. Looks great!
