New release: Collab with estwing

Got an email today from kabar about a collaboration with estwing listed as the model 1309
Comes with a hatchet where there is a black spacer every few leather washers, reminiscent of a classic MK2 fighting utility knife AND what looks like a dog's head outdoor knife with a full width tang and bolt on estwing blue g10 scales.

I will be a very happy camper if this blade and handle style shows up in the catalog with different scales. (Canvas or burlap Micarta with an 80 grit finish would be ideal)

I got the email and my past practice would be me all over this, but I’m tired of getting burnt buying things from KA-BAR only to see them significantly discounted a few months later.

I like that full tang KA-BAR a lot! I’m not doing it though. I’ll take my chances and if I don’t get one, so be it.

yeah - I don't need another estwing hammer, and I'm hoping they make the full width tang w/bolt on scales a regular part of the catalog -- it would likely generate a lot of sales from the "I hate rat tails" crowd, even if the actual mk1 & 2 tangs aren't rat tails...

So according to State and Union on the KaBar FB page, that knife will show up at some point with different handle materials/colors.
There was no indication of price, though.

Having bought one of the more recent Estwing knives I'm now terrified of any involvement they have in the knife world.

I wasted 10 minutes of my life trying to think of a funny reason to have them, but came up with nothing. . So you got the boring truth. The real luxury is only needing 1 key, they aren’t real high security things anyway. I ended up with 40 of them.

Nice pairing. I've been searching for an affordable knife of that style, preferably with the brass butt-plate like yours. Someday.....
