So after using various half mask respirators over the years, I have found that safety glasses and goggles still don't fit tightly enough to keep bits of steel from trying to get into my eyes. I even tried a full face shield over the glasses and resirator. That works but tends to get in the way. So finally I broke down and got a North 7800A full face mask resiorator. It was delivered on Friday and today I took down to play. I was grinding on several blades. Profiling and beveling both high carbon and stainless for a couple of hours, it seemed like it was working great. I decided to take a break and pulled off the mask. Damn, my whole shop smelled like a fresh woodland meadow! This mask is really great! Wait a minute, I went to investigate and found that shop dog had found and chewed up a box of air freshener filters. So now I now the new respiratior works cause I smelled nothing, my shop smells great and shop dog now longer has dog breath!
