New Rex-45 rolled on cardboard

I have a brand new para 3 Rex 45 ... the edge was wicked sharp out of the box as I cut prob 4 ft of heavy 3/8 cardboard and the edge had visible and feelable rolling on it. Would this be due at either a wire edge being there? Although I inspected closely when I got it and didn’t see it notice one being there, or could it be from the factory or needing to sharpen the weak grinded edge off?

I'd guess it was a wire edge -- a burr that rolled.

You can test that theory by putting a small micro-bevel on the edge and try cutting the cardboard again.

My Delica had a wickedly sharp burr on it when it arrived. Jumped hairs, but rolled when I cut with it. Had to give a sharpen to get rid of the wire edge.
