Well, budget restraints didn't allow for the actual tractor I was hoping for, but this should do the trick for a few years, hopefully.

Kubota T2380.

Sad thing is, if the dealer would've taken our credit application last Saturday, when we were in there, I would've ended up with the top of the line Kubota Zero Turn ZG327 commercial mower. Our minds were made up. But, they told us to wait until Monday to turn in the paperwork; then, weather kept us from getting down there until today. During those several days, we rechecked the budget and decided that a $10,000 zero turn mower wasn't in the cards just yet.

Danbo I mowed my acreage for years with a Craftsman lawn tractor. That little Kubota ought to last a long time. The best thing about the Craftsmans were the Kohler engines.
What kind of engine does the Kubota have?

It has a Kohler engine. Not sure which model Kohler, but it's a 23 hp Kohler with full pressure lube and spin off oil filter.

Maintain it yourself and it will last you as long as you want to keep it. I just sold a 30yo JD 300 lawn mower this past summer. Had an 18hp air cooled Kohler (zero problems) and is still cutting grass.... new mowers are cool.

I have some friends in the landscaping business, and Kubota has a VERY good reputation for quality machines. Their equipment is more "commercial" or "contractor" level, but I would imagine the "homeowner" line is excellent as well.

I bought a new rider last spring. What a painfull ordeal, They have so many brands/features now days. I just wanted to cut grass (about 2 acres). The different transmission/drive features confused the hell out of me. I like your Kubota, should last forever if you maintain it well.

I bought a tractor back in the fall and managed to locate a 72" finishing mower on Craigslist for $400 in great shape. I'm really looking forward to trying it out. If it does a good job I just might put my Craftsman rider on the market.

If I ever buy another mower it's going to be a zero turn...and probably a Kubota diesel if they make such a beast.

You could have just borrowed a few of Bastid's goats.

My next will also be a zero turn of some type. I have been mowing my uncles place (3 or 4 acres worth) for the past two summers and his mower is a 48" Zero turn.. cant recall the brand but dayum.,...... you can mow WAY faster and zip around trees and whatever very very fast and easy. I'd never buy a tractor style for mowing again!

I put a lot of hours on a kubota zero turn diesel, so elkins, they do make such a beast and they are basically bombproof. Thats a good looking little tractor and like others have said you should get many good years out of it.
