Not sure what the feelings here are about Rike knives. I don't see much discussion about them and not sure why. They remind me of where Reate was years ago.
I've never seen Rike making out and out copy's of other knives like say a Kevin John. I'm not saying they haven't, I've just never seen it, have they? Some of the new Rike stuff I've seen looks really nice! They're take on the*Kwaiken is unique and I think looks great. Some of there other models that have been on instagram look very nice and they all look like original designs.
Thoughts?

Mike

Yeah, I have been really impressed by what they've put on Instagram lately. Some of their early stuff really didn't do it for me, but when I saw the 1507 and then read some stellar reviews I jumped at the chance to pick one up for a very good price. The fit and finish on my 1507 is flawless and that's been the general consensus of others I talked to that have one as well. I'm looking forward to see what the come out with in the future.

That Kwaiken-like knife doesnt look too shabby.
Maybe a stretch, but the handle looks vaguely GTC inspired, but not enough to cause an uproar.
Must admit I havent handled it, so cant really say for sure.....

They definitely "fail to exercise restraint" on some of the anodizing choices lately, but they seem to be going in a very positive direction. The kwaiken is just a little too narrow for me, but I am interested to see what their upcoming models will look like. Chinese knives have been getting all of my money lately.

Then You wont like the Böker Sierra Delta Drop either:D

I think that's a very attractive design, it's just with the Rike it's hard to get an idea of the proportions because I've never seen one in real life. It looks like it's even narrower than the Burnley Kwaiken in pictures.

One of their older models is a spitting image of a Chaves Megalodon.

Besides the fuller running into the thumb opening, I don't think they look anything alike. If anything, a different earlier model looked like the Quartermaster Spicoli.

Boy I have to use my imagination on that one, I really don't see it.
I really like some of the new Rike models. The finishes on the Rike Kwaikens do remind me of Ferko's and Gavko's. Everything I read about the knives, the fit, finish, and materials has all been positive. I wish them well.

I don't know, if you spit a whole bunch on the image it might start to look like it.

Think it might go more into the "inspired by" category. I can see some Hinderer in it too.

I see the Hinderer in there as well, the pivot and handle angles.

What's funny is that, maybe six months ago, someone made a post almost identical to mine and everyone agreed.

Times, they are a'changin'.

Anyway, it's the hole and fuller and general blade width:length ratio that is most reminiscent of the Megalodon. The hole and fuller is almost 1:1, however.

No way, look at that nice generic straight coffin handle, like a Reeve, compared to the Rike with a great drop at the tail of the handle.

They're similar knives for sure, and the fuller-thumbhole linkup, combined with having a fuller at all, really gives it a sibling vibe.

The Rike shows plenty of individuality though, and there are only so many styles of large frame lock folder with a broad deep-bellied blade.

Inspired by, but unless they're gas station specials I wouldn't call them a knockoff.

That's pretty much a clone isn't it?

The Rike actually looks really nice, I'd buy that but not the hollow ground Quartermaster.

Link? If I'm thinking of the thread you're talking about, I thought it was something other than a Chaves Megalodon that it was being compared to.

Not to mention the fact that Rike actually acknowledges that it's made in China.
