I spent most of the weekend cleaning the shop and working on the honey-do list. I was able to get a few hours to heat-treat and finish this latest knife.
O-2 steel, purpleheart overlays, brass pins.
The grinds are mirror-polished and the flats are satin finished.
The weird mess on the blade is from the scanner- guess I need to learn to use the new digital camera.
What do you think of the knife?

Dave, I like your ring in this one. How does it feel in the hand? Is it a neck knife size?

Dave,It looks great......I am also curious if it is a neck knife.
Hey RhinoKnives.....Dave made this knife......Not either one of the Bruce's.....Even though I wish I could take credit for such a fine looking knife,I can't

Looking good Dave :)

I see you're getting more brave and trying double grinds now!

Keep 'em coming!!!

looks good Dave. I like the size, shape, ring location and contrast on the finish...Give you a 4.87 on the 5 scale for this one.

Sorry guys- the overall length is 8 1/4, with the blade [to the front of the overlay] at 4 3/4. I think this one is a little large for a necker.

It feels TERRIBLE if you try to use the ring in any way. Maybe Val Kilmer would have liked to use it [His performance As Doc Holiday in the scene with the whisky cup]. With the lead finger in either finger notch it feels pretty good.

Thanks for all the supportive words. I appreciate it!

Nick, I don't have much choice but to try new styles- both my mentors are tied up :)
