New RMD owner, question

Hi all, I just received my first SwampRat, an RMD CG from the website. Tanker/black canvas. Very busy with school right now so I haven't had much time to get out but my initial impressions are very positive, I kind of knew I would love it just from looking at pictures before receiving it. Coming from ESEE's being my previous favorites the flat scales and simple micarta on steel setup and really appeals to me. Anyway I am a fair to middling sharpener but I don't have a belt sander and I'd like to get someone to thin out the edge for me. So I'm wondering, from other's who have done the same, who do you recommend here on the forum to do this work. Thanks.

I was also thinking it would be cool to see an 'RMD or swamprat accessories available on this forum' thread.
 
Born and raised in south Florida. I would be all over a Swamp Rat t-shirt! Oh, and nice knife! I can't wait to get mine. :(
 
Oh, My bad. I'd still like a t-shirt or hat though. (hint hint Swamp Rat!)

Being a lefty I actually prefer them not come with a sheath. To each his own...
 
me too I just spent like a whole day recently trying to get boker to sell me the new bushcraft knife without the sheath. it was funny hitting the mental programming wall of phone workers "...but it comes with a sheath..in the box" "what you do with the sheath is your own affair sir" haha.
 
RichardJ does a good job but just got out of the hospital so may be a bit before he is at it again. Would not hurt to look him up.

Send it to Ban Tang and tell him what you want done and I promise you the edge he puts on it will far and away exceed any expecations you may have.
 
Having only dealt with Nate (norcalblacktail) on here I can only comment on his work. Not much to say though other than excellent work. You will not be disappointed. His website is knifemods.com. I got some sheaths from azwelke and those are great as well.
 
thanks, definitely planning on grabbing an azwelke kydex. I tried contacting norcalblacktail through here and the website, maybe he's not taking orders right now. Is Ban Tang a forum user? I'm not returning any results
