Just received an RMD in the mail and have to say that while it is growing on me, first impressions left me a little disappointed. I have fairly big hands and this knife doesn't seem to know quite how it wants to sit in my hand. I find myself wishing the handle was a little thicker but looking at it, I'm guessing it's a lot harder to mod than something like my Beckers (unscrew, cut liners from DVD case, reassemble). It especially feels off balance/loose when holding in what I would term a 'hammer' grip, although conversely, it's the first choiled knife I've owned that does make me comfortable choking up on it.
As an aside, as someone relatively new to all things sharp and pointy, are there threads or YouTube examples of the range of grips one can use on a knife for different uses?
Also, just wondering what recommendations are out there for sheaths. I know AZwelke does kydex for the RMD but what other options are there that folks like? Pics would be appreciated as I know we all love showing off our kit. In the short term I tried my SpecOps Combat Master but it's just a rattle-fest in that, however an old Buck Nighthawk nylon sheath proved to be a superb fit and I may yet go with that as the Nighthawk sits in the SpecOps quite nicely.
And of course, because it never happened if there are no pics to prove it:
