Brand new, unused Waiter/Bartender for $8 today.

Walked into the smokeshop to pick out some new tabacco to try and before I left this little victorinox caught my eye. Corkscrew staring me down. Asked the guy how much and he said $8. What a deal! Brand new (appearently), although the edge was below-par for victorinox, so I'm not convinced. But hey, I just spent 5 minutes with some 1500 grit and my leather strop and ts nicely shaving again.

Look at the scales if they are a flat Red and nylon, with a smaller shield you do have a Victorinox, but it is the Ecoline (slightly cheaper). A lot of stores are choosing to carry this line instead of the regular knife line.

Oh I agree, though there are numerous companies in China and there abouts which do copy knives (including Tang stamps) but I've never seen a fake Victorinox (I've seen clone SAKS but they never claimed to be Vics). If you download the Victorinox English Catalog (PDF) and go to page 17 of the PDF (which is page 14 of the catalog) you can see the complete Ecoline. Other than the Nylon scales (regular ones come in Cellidor) no one has really seen much difference (most people on SOSAK don't feel there is a difference at all), there has to be another reason for the $5-10 price difference (I just don't know what it is).
