I have had a couple of dealers tell me that Victorinox is introducing some new knives this quarter or early next quarter. There is supposed to be a new smaller Swisstool, and possibly a lockblade the size of the Tinker. Has anyone heard anything? BTW I checked Swiss-knife.com and the Victorinox site and they didn't have any information.

If they've developed a 91mm locking mechanism, then I have a feeling they're going to release a LOT of new models. I've read e-mails from them that said that they weren't currently working on a lock for the knives this size, but that was a couple months ago. Maybe they changed their mind.

As for the smaller Swisstool: while I would love one, I first heard that they were going to come out with this model two years ago. Still waiting.

JamesA,

I just heard this information from a couple of dealers in Atlanta and Virginia. I do know that one of the German dealers did state that he had a spring (sometime) release date for the smaller Swisstool. The USA dealers said that the lock for the smaller models was similiar to the mechanism on the newer larger models like the Trailmaster. I haven't heard of a release date for that one.
