I got this Victorinox Hercules this week.
It's pretty awesome imo.
I used my Vic.Champ a lot as a GSE mechanic in the Marine Corps.
I've used pretty much every tool on the Champ, but always wished I'd gotten the version with pliers.
Well the Herc has pliers & a longer knife blade & saw.
Plus the screw drivers, tweezers, tooth pick, awl & the everpresent corkscrew.
And the knife blade locks.
It's time to retire the Champ & start carrying the Hercules.
The longer saw & knife will make any needed tasks a little easier.
I'll be carrying the Herc.when camping for now on,it screams bushcraft imo.
I went with the SAK vs a multitool to save weight.
I've got a wave & surge, but even the large Hercules is much lighter,so I'll leave the surge in the truck & the wave in the bob.

Nice SAK - good selection of tools on that one. I like the larger, locking SAK's and you're right, the longer blade and saw do make a difference, as does the larger handle.

I've got a Rucksack, Forrester and Workchamp, although the Workchamp is a little too bulky for me really.

If it wasn't for the dumb UK knife laws I would EDC one of them.

The Hercules is a great big SAK and the bigger blade and saw are very useful. Especially for wood preparation it can be handy to have a blade and saw that's a bit larger than the usual blade and saw on e.g. the Farmer.

I really dig that Hercules!I know what you mean by a Vic SAK being much lighter on the belt than a regular MT.That's why I belt carry a Vic Huntsman. The heavier multi stays in my lunch bag,or bob.

Nice score.

I have a Workchamp, and it's a beast - definately for sheath carry.

There is a lot of value with those knives - a lot of features for your dollar.

Nice. I've recently started carrying the Outrider. I'd read that the 111mm SAKs are too big for pocket carry but I use one of those key clips that slide over your belt. It supports the weight of the knife in the pocket and you don't even know it's there. Great score!

I thought the Champ was a beast when I bought it in the 80s,but this Herc eclipses it.
I definately need to get a clip.
Thanks for the idea BmB.

Hey Myke, what are the holes in the scales of your well worn Champ?
