New Salt I or Pacific?

Hello,

I have a Salt I, and from what I have read it is the Salt I's H1 blade in a Delica body. It looks like the Pacific is the same with the Endura. Now that Spyderco has changed the Delica body and the Endura body, will there be a new edition of the Salt I and Pacific too? Thanks!

The current Delica / Endura 4 came more than 4 years ago. One mayor change was the addition of steel liners.

The SALT series are intended to be 100% rustproof. Steel liners would have to be made of 100% rustproof steel too, which would have been quite costly; so Spyderco chose not to use the D/E4 handle design to keep the price at a tolerable level, and instead went with the the Delica/Endura 3 handles. These are a proven design and pretty tough & reliable, so they were just perfect for the SALT series (hard working knife for rough environments).

Just now, the SALT knives are changed from pins to screws, but the handles stay the same. Can't imagine that there are plans to design new handles for them in the near future.

Thank you for the replies!

I've been out of the loop on Spyderco's lineup for a while, so to me the latest Delicas and Enduras are "new." Sorry for any confusion!

I just got back into Spyderco with the Salt I (which joins my ladybug, Delica, and Police).

The Salt I rides in my pocket every day, and I think it is great. I was basically checking if I would have an excuse to get a new knife.

LOL pwet!

I know! I have an Emerson CQC-7 that I have carried for a long time, as well as a Spyderco Police that I carried for a long time as well. But I live in Seattle and the city has some ridiculous blade length restrictions....
