New SARK arrived...

My SARK arrived today (gift from my girlfriend) and I am impressed. It is very nice, scary sharp and seems just about perfect. The blade is centered, there is no rub on the liners, and the lockup is rock solid. The same goes for the 2 SOCFKs I received a few days ago.
Are the QC issues finally over?
I had to tinker with my green g10 2000 commander when I first got it a couple of months ago. IIRC my '98 pre production Commander was almost perfect too.

Well done on the new SARK and 2 SOFCKs.

I hope that the days of bad QC are over. Then the unconverted will start to feel the wave....

My SARK has become my regular carry knife and when I get a deployment sheath made, it will go on my whitewater rescue vest!

Have you seen the new La Griffe model that appears to be patterned after the SARK, only smaller
blunt tip
serrated
I believe it comes with its own sheath

You mean the "White Water Rescue"?

Malazo, Yes I am aware of the Whitewater knife and will probably have to obtain one but the blade length of the SARK appears longer and may be better suited. A test of the two this spring is in order! Maybe I'll carry both on my vest!

Phillip,

Glade that you like the SARK. That along with the Mach 1 and the SOCFK are the direction that Emerson Knives is heading in the year 2001. I really like the newly designed "traction nubbies" on the new knives.

To all,

The WWR 'Griffe is just about the same size as the current "pointy" Griffe. The blade length is under 2". The SARK's is approaching 4". (3.75" to be almost exact) We are working on a new sheath for the WWR that will attatch easily to the 4-way lash tabs that are on all of the PFD's used by all you paddlers out there. The British SAS is currently T&Eing the WWR for use as a jumpmaste/repel knife.

Take care,
Derek
