New scales for ZT 0551

So on ZT's FB page they just announced(the first I have heard anyhow) a new selection of replacement scales. I have a 0551 and really like it. The one thing I have not been super keen on is the brick pattern. I don't hate it, just not thrilled. The new scales are
XM styled texture and available in a range of neat colors. Black, blue black, orange, dark earth, blue and so on. I am pretty sure I will get at least one. What do you think? They are $65. Is it worth it getting this kind of ad on for the 0551 or any other knife?

I think it's worth it, especially if you're tired of black G-10

Also for authenticity, Rick Hinderer is signing the back of each scale. Cool.
 
If it's a knife you really like and carry/use a lot, then yes, I'd say personalizing it with some new scales is definitely worth it. :)
 
I'm psyched, just ordered orange though disappointed theres no toxic green. So over black, like a new knife. Hope 650 series i wont have to waster another $65 on replacement. Good money maker Rick, thanks! I was waiting clearly Kershaw cant figure out secondary markets profit making opp.

No time to make them.

I personally want Toxic Green as well.
 
It's good to change it up now and then, especially if you use it everyday. Plus you can just use a torx bits to change it.
 
I was all set to grab the CF and when I went to put it in the cart it was $100 (I should have known it would be more pricey than g10 haha) Now I am thinking it over a little bit before I pull the trigger.
 
Damn, those are nice. I like the brick pattern on my 0551 fine, though. What's that glow in the dark looking scale that it won't let you order?

Wharn, I thought you sent your 0551 back to the dealer?

Are these all sold out except for ACU Camo? Only thing it will let me add to cart.
 
Its worth that for the health benefits alone so you don't have to breath that stuff! Working with G10 and other materials like this is very caustic and it can linger for weeks at times in most shops. Even in good vented shops that left over from continued use and cutting can build up if you are not careful and the dust is very bad for you and your animals and so forth. Its worth every penny to not have to mess with that.

Why use valuable production time making stuff for the secondary/mod market when they are up to their ears as it is trying to get 2011 models to the PRIMARY market?

Yeah I sent the defective one back and bought another one from a forum member here and am loving it.
