I received this Schatt & Morgan Swaybelly Trapper last week. The handles are Jigged Orange Bone. Although Queen calls the handles orange, they have a lot of yellow in them which pleases me quite a bit. The knife is 4 1/8" closed with a main Clip blade 3 3/8" long a Spey blade 3 1/4" long. All blades are stainless. The knife has two springs. The pull on both blades is very even (6 to 7 on a scale of 1 to 10) and the snap for both blades is positive. There is a very minor, slight, short, gap between a liner a spring making the overall fit of this knife very good but not excellent. None of the blades on the knife are razor sharp but both blades are very sharp -- certainly able to accomplish any reasonable task as it came from the box. One thing that pleases me very much is the fact that there are four handle pins AND the shield is pinned!! This is a very solid knife and will make a good worker on a couple of the ranches I goof off at.

That is peachy.
Very nice.

Very nice, Ed!

I like that bone a lot. Reminds me of Squash bone.

Yep, it does. Here is a comparison of what Schatt & Morgan/Queen calls Orange Bone and Squash Bone. Both of them have a lot of yellow in them.

My Schatt & Morgan Orange Bone Swaybelly Trapper in this thread:

My Schatt & Morgan Squash Bone Stockman I posted about last month:

If someone ran a thread about yellow handles, I'd include either one of these knives in the thread as they are both just an off-shoot of the color yellow as far as I'm concerned and both are very close to each other none-the-less.

Very nice bone and jigging.
Is it translucent when the sun is on it?
I especially love bone when it is.

It has the same frame as the Swayback Wharnie, and is very comfortable to use. I don't know why they called Swayback wharnie, it is actually a Swaybelly.
Also the same frame is used for the Cotton Sampler, just reversed.

Enjoy working with it.

Ed, you have got yourself two VERY nice knives there my friend...that bone is realy attractive

I wanted one of those so bad when they did the first run! The first run sold out and I didn't think they would make them again so I got a Tidioute #73 with the capped end in it's place. I really like the looks of those swaybelley trappers, and yours is a looker!

Yes. At a quick glance, this knife looks like GEC's #23 knife and their smaller #73 knife -- all very handsome knives and all capable of heavy work. I have all three knives (all with end caps) and pattern wise can't pick a favorite between the three. Size wise, I like the knife featured in this thread and the GEC #23 knife.

I prefer the #73 size but like you said they're all handsome devils and can handle about anything! I would be cool it they would make a run of Cozy Glenn Swaybelley Trappers.
