Cutlerylover recently did a review on the new 300 series from schrade. Does anyone own any of them? Are they worth the $20?

So, you're saying that cutlerylover's review did nothing to convince you whether or not these knives are worth $20? I watched his YouTube video. He seems to like them for what they are. Personally, I don't care for any of Taylor Cutlery's offerings. I'd rather save that $20 for something more practical like food or gas. There are several low-cost knives out there of better quality by reputable knife companies for a few dollars more. To each his own. But, if you like the look of the knives and don't mind carrying a heavy-ass 10 ounce chunk of cheap steel in your pocket, then why not get one? At worst, you'll be out $20 if you don't like it.

The pivot design is questionable. 6mm diameter but the bitty [as in diameter] screw threads [2mm diameter! one on each side] do not go all the way into the bitty [as in lengthwise] pivot, so the forces transmitted through the blade are possibly stressing the bitty screws if the pivot is not perfectly centered, if you follow me. I batoned an SCH302 through a rubber hose and the pivot loosened pretty much immediately. That is probably the Achilles of these knives, the pivot. Oh and the pocket clip is very ehh.

I have both the 302, and the 304. They are easily worth the price of ownership. In fact they are in a class of their own at their price to my knowledge. Are they perfect - no, but they are great at what they are. They have some thing that I appreciate in any tool , and that is integrity. The designer of these knives made no compromises. For someone who likes beefy folders like me, I consider them a steal, (pun intended) and a lot of it. If weight matters, don't even waste your time checking them out.

I had not read Klute's post prior to mine, I got distracted and missed it. In the spirit of full disclosure, I take what Klute states under advisement. His use of this folder is more comprehensive than what I typically expect from a $25.00 folder. It is none the less a fair assessment.

To be fair, i've had the knife for only two months, the pivot screws are know loctited in place but I haven't batoned anything else. As we know it's a cardinal sin on BF to baton a folder :p, so, maybe I did slightly step outside the scope of this knife but ...

Aside from that ..cutting, prying, and sharpening have not been issues. Cool looking knife.

cutlerylover said he will do a destruction test, we will see what we see.
