Looks nice. My biggest fear with Schrade is that they didn't learn their lesson from the Cliphanger fiasco. It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth that a reputable co such as Schrade would even attempt to foist that knife off on the general public.

Dexter, it isn't an import. Schrade makes it right there is New York. I don't care for the styling either but I'm impressed with the new U spring lock back mechanism. It feels very smooth and sure when compared to the average lock back. It will be interesting to see how it sells. My wife liked it and she usually predicts things pretty well.

El Cid, if you didn't like the locking mechanism on the Lake and Walker (and I didn't either) you may like this one.

A truly ugly knife; a real brute. I can't imagine any mechanical advantages making up for the hideous visual design.

I didn't sense any play in the blade or lock of the one sample I inspected. There is only one sku at the moment. I have no idea if they will produce a plain blade. These were ordered at the shot show in January and just arrived yesterday so I doubt many if any have been put to use yet. The new Schrade DH2 d'Holder will be here next week, by the way and that will certainly be a winner. Looks like the Avatar is a little controversial at any rate.

Looks like it came straight out of the BudK catalog.

The handle graphics make it look cheap, gaudy
and ugly. It looks like some cheap knock-off.
Something more subtle would be alot more appealing. Otherwise, the rest of the knife
seems pretty nice at first glance. Nice blade, nice handle. Just not those ugly graphics. Of course, it might look better in person. At least they'll have enough common sense to make a plain-edge version as well.
