New Schrade Barlows, any good??

Im on vacation at my parents place and a place near them has a few white handled Schrade Barlows on sale for $5 a piece.. Are they worth it?? Im just looking for a general kicking around, carving, cutting random stuff knife to use when Im not saving the world with my tactical folders .. I was just wondering if they were worth it, cause if they were I was going to pick up both of them before I go home..
