Back in 1995 when I was in college, I received a beautiful new Schrade LB7 as a gift from a very good friends Dad (who was an avid hunter) who was excited that I had gotten into, and was enjoying duck and deer hunting. He said it was the best hunting knife he had ever had.

Being the irresponsible punk kid that I was, I proceeded to lose it shortly after and have always felt badly about it.

In the past couple of weeks I decided that I would pick up another Schrade, and was sad to learn that they are being made in China now, and the company went bankrupt :thumbdn:. So off I went to ebay and picked up a little pocket knife I can carry around with me. Any clue as to what year it was produced in?

I'm pretty excited to get the knife. I guess my next purchase will be finding another LB7.

Thank you

Austin73 Welcome to the "fold" anyway great score on an even better knife with some great history behind it, enjoy and continue to visit and update on the new found interest. OH BTW it does become a little(HA HA) like an addiction.

Started my collection a couple years ago, but just recently found you guys. Where can I get a copy of Robert Clemente's book? Thanks, Dan

spoke to Robert tonight. His computer is on the mend. He asked that I put up his mailing address and e-mail. The book is 25.00 which includes S&H. He updates it as he finds info needing changing.

Copied out of a thread from last year. I believe it is still valid. Hang in here MM57 and Austin73. There is a lot of good info in here, both current and from old posts.

Thanks so much for the information and replies. I appreciate the responses.

I can see how this could be an addicting hobby. I already added 18 knives to my "watch" list on Ebay.

What other knives (folders) are still made in the USA besides Case and most Buck knives?

austin73 watch the bucks cause more than a person might realize are made "offshore". A couple that I'm aware of that are USA made, Canal Street Cutlery, Great Eastern, and Northern knife, not sure on the last maker, if the name is proper? I'm sure I missed some, someone else will chime in on ones I might have missed here.
