So- one month to the day and nearly 3 thousand miles, the shovelhead I bought has a new home. I originaly planned to do a little work to it here and there and bomb around town. The only problem is that I love long road trips. I do not love them at 55-60mph, mirrors vibrating so bad as to be worthless, donating various nuts and bolts to the highway gods and kidneys that scream "what the f*ck!?" after 4-5 hours out. A search was on for something new. Turns out a bud has a bro that knows a guy that's looking for a shovel. He has something that he thinks I'd like. So I cruise over to his pad and find a 1985 Tour Glide. Evo, 5spd, belt drive, full tour-pack kit, air ride suspension....even a radio. Comes with full set of extra hard bags, Electra Glide batwing fairing and a spare front end. The scoot has a S&S Super "E", K&N filter, Samson shotgun pipes, SE ignition and more goodies. I kind of stared at it for a minute (not really my style of bike- I'm in my late twenties haha) and decided to take it out for a spin. Less than a mile out I was sold. Tons of power, smooth and capable of pulling 100 with ease. Now I own a geezer glide.

I plan on putting the Electra Glide fairing on, duals with fishtails and a few other small things but I'm enjoying it as is for the time being.
Here are the pics
Needs a little cleaning, nothing too bad.

Kids love this windshield! Getting removed asap, haha.

Yay for 10.5-1 comp. My starter loves it!

Nice new ride Marty!!

Good to see you post:D

Wish I could say I'd take a ride with ya, but it looks like I've got to sell the bike to pay the property taxes this year!! I know, OUCH! But I gotta keep a roof over the kids' heads, right?:o

Have fun!!

Jon

I'll bet you find plenty of uses for the bags too! I recently "graduated" to a bagger after fighting it for, hmmm- about 30 years. Sure added a whole lot of convenience to my riding- not to mention range, flexibility, etc. The plusher ride and better wind protection ain't too bad either- just remember you've got all that extra weight on board. Welcome to the dark side- Enjoy!

The OL loves it as I am much more likely to go down to the store now. Gallon of milk, chips, beers etc.....all fit in the bags.

Nice scoot marty, I'd love a clip of some revs, that's a sweet sound coming out of those pipes.
