After much searching I was finally able to find another ivory Mnandi, so I of course had it scrimshawed as well. The ivory was a bit darker, not as white, so it's not as clear, but I still think it came out pretty good. This one is damascus, which is nice. And yes, scrimshaw officially has to be a naked woman, one of those rules. :)





If anyone does have another ivory Sebenza or Mnandi they'd be interested in selling let me know, I'd like to grow this collection. :)
 
Gone are the days of an anchor with a snake wrapped around it, or a good ol' 4-masted schooner.
 
This post caused me to google how scrimshaw is done - pretty interesting. Whoever did that is a true artist.
 
Nothing more beautiful than a womans body and a Mnandi with damascus lol...very nice:)

The artist is Ron Luebke. He did the other one as well.

The girl is off the internet, I don't know her name. Googled "tasteful pinup nudes" and tried to find one that would work. Looking at the original photo it's from "Femjoy.com," but I wouldn't go there at work. :) He didn't get the mouth quite right, but other then that the photo is recognizable.
 
Not my cup of tea, but well done. As for getting another ivory Mnandi, it will be harder to do and more expensive now that they are discontinued.

Yeah, unfortunately. I'd really like an ivory Sebenza but we'll see if that ever happens. It took me years to find the two Mnandis I have, so I'll keep looking. :)
 
This is a fantastic knife and the scrimshaw is excellent. But damn, even scrimshawed implants look terrible IMO.;) Awesome Mnandi.
