New Seal Pup Elite?

I think SOG lost out on a lot of sales using AUS 6, since it is an older steel and the hype is always going to sell the latest and greatest. At least AUS 8 has a well-developed following, with so many companies using it successfully for so long. But different steels having different characteristics may actually do fine for the level of use required, and the price they can keep down with them. I would think AUS 6 might be better on corrosion resistance, and easy to resharpen. But I bet the new AUS 8 models sell better! :D

Esav,

Thank you for the info. I'm looking for a good little fixed blade that I could use for everthing from snorkeling and cleaning speared fish to taking on hikes and camping in Moab. This little guy seems like it will fit the bill. I only wish the blade was about .5" to .75" longer. Maybe .25" thick would be nice also. But I definitely like the serrations on the lower third of the blade and notching on the spine. Don't know what I would use the notching on the spine for though. The kydex sheath seems like it will be a nice all purpose easy to lash unit.
