I just thought that everyone might like to see this. We have just recieved and are ready to start shipping the new SEAL Pup sheath with the Groove. It is also available as a replacement sheath for everyone that already owns a SEAL Pup.

Enjoy
Chris

Thanks Chris. Very nice. Unfortunately not ambidexterous, but couldn't do that with "Groove." Will there be left handed "Grooves?" I don't care since I am a righty :D What other fixed blades are now shipping with "Grove" sheaths?

That is a nifty setup. Very cool looking. Does the sheath also fit the Seal Revolver?

Actually the sheath is ambidexterous. You will have remove the two screws and the belt clip seperates from the sheath. Then you flip the sheath over and put the screws back. Now it works from the left. Aslo you can place the sheath horizontal for a horizontal carry. Once you see it you will understand a little more. It is actually quite well thought out. I will try and post more images soon.

Hey Chris, I currently own a Seal Pup and have one question about the new sheath: when you say it is going to be "a replacement" sheath, do you mean we can trade our old ones in, or this is the new standard sheath for the Pup. Thanks;)

What's that old saying? Something about "when hell freezes over?" ;)

You get an "A" for Asking.

I guess what I should have said is that the new sheath will be for sale for people that already have a SEAL Pup and want the new sheath. It will be shipping with all SEAL Pup knives as the new standard sheath.

Thanks Chris, I was wondering what you meant, but you cleared things up. I was wondering if there any plan for "groove" sheaths for any other knife models. I think that the design is very innovative and I would love to see it implemented on the other SOG fixed blades. Thanks ;)

it is a piece of crap (the new sheath) see my comment in this forum in another post

I think the new sheaths are wonderful, well thought out and perfect for outdoor use where you need to rely on a sheath being tight, and not losing your knife, the best part about the sheath is that it is so versatile and can be changed form left carry to right, or upside down, or screws loosened for easy draw.
My knives work well in them and they seem to be quality.
Robbie Roberson ;)

P.S. Of course there might be some that don't like them  .

I really like the original cordura sheath that mine has. I did make a metal bolster for the bottom of the sheath as a measure of reinforcement. It really couldn't get any better. Well maybe another retaining strap. :)
