Good day to all,
I know this is a redundant statement in these parts, but yesterday I picked up a brand new Sebenza 25 from a dealer in Toronto and I cannot be happier with my choice, it's much closer to being ecstatic. I am new to the world of folders and tactical knives but the workmanship that I see on this knife is incredible. My EDC up until now is a Pattada that I picked up a few years ago while visiting Sardegna. Although it holds great sentimental value, and I love the look and feel of that knife the Sebbie is on a completely different level when it comes to being a precision made instrument. Truly great work from a company that obviously takes pride in the daily work that they do.
I don't think I'll be able to contribute much to this forum but I look forward to learning and being a part of this community.
Cheers,
John

Welcome and congrats. Most of us around here learn something new all the time so don't hesitate to contribute. Nobody around here will drag you through the mud. Nice folks.

Cheers and welcome. We are always happy to have new blood here. If you do not feel like contributing, that is fine. Enjoy all of the pictures everyone puts up and the discussions that go on here. They are entertaining to say the least. Post some pics of yours if you get the chance. :)

Welcome to the forum, like you I am new here (just east of you) and my latest acquisition was a large 25 from a fellow forum member in Alberta. I love everything about this knife. The workmanship is exquisite

and it feels wonderful in my hand. Only problem is I am opening closing it so often my thumb is getting sore. I am not flicking this knife, just rolling it open and feeling that silky oiled sensation.

I have other high quality knives but so far this is the pick of the litter. Might do a washer stoning to smooth it out a bit more.

Congratulations!! Seems like you visited S & R :) i picked up a 25 there last month too, great knife!
How is the opening on yours? mine almost felt like the pivot had been tightened....

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I am looking forward to the days ahead using this knife, I can't get it out of my mind. I am starting to get what this obsession thing is all about.
Cheers

I did pick this up from S & R, I drove in from Hamilton in the afternoon. I had see one in the flesh and just couldn't wait any longer. I'm so glad I did. I'm not sure how the opening should feel as this is the first Sebenza I've handled and I don't have much experience with folders in general. However it is I'm happy with it.
Cheers
John
Sorry this is in reply to 416isToronto, but I'm not sure how to place this response under his post. I'm still trying to figure out things around here.

No worries, BF was the first forum i ever joined, so had to figure these things out too :)

At the bottom of the posts, lower right corner, you have an option to "Reply with Quote"...and it shows up like this...
Also, the last little button on the right, with the quotation marks and + sign lets you add multiple quoted messages, so check off the ones you want to reply to and then click the "reply to thread" and those msgs show up in your reply...

Nice stuff 416isToronto. Thanks for the tips. By the way, I'm still trying to work on opening the Sebbie with 1 hand and can't manage it. I find that it sticks at the beginning but once I get passed the initial friction point it's as smooth as butter.

Hmmm....the reason i asked was that i know for a fact that these guys do tighten up pivots when they can for bringing up knives from down south...so it is possible that it was tightened...but it is my first Sebenza 25 too, and first New in box sebenza. I had just picked up a used 21 exactly 6 days before going out and getting the 25....i was just so impressed by the 21 and knowing that S&R had some 25s available...i just had to get one....lol
so i was not sure either...but i adjusted the pivot to make it just slightly easier to open...still fairly tight...but can be opened easier with the CRK recommended sweeping motion ;)

Very interesting. Please excuse my ignorance in advance, however, this being my first frame lock and Sebenza of any kind for that matter, I am assuming the pivot is the larger screw found under the "CR" logo. How much did you loosen it? Also is there a tutorial that shows the CRK sweeping motion?
Feel free to rip into me for being a newbie, but I rather ask then try it my way and slice my finger open. :D

I too am new to CRK...my first, a 21 user was picked up on February 14, and got the 25 on the 20th....
It is the large screw...and adjustment is tiny...perhaps one the more experienced guys can weigh in :)

amike... you are right... I am already looking to sell some of my other ones to get a Zaan.... lol

Welcome to BF and the CRK forum too. No worries about being new and not having much to contribute. All of us were new here also. It's a learning

process. The more you hang out on different forum the more you'll learn.

You know that 25 won't be your only CRK, right. :D
