New Sebbie!!

I bought a Sebenza today from Chesapeake Knife and Tool. Its a unique graphics Large Sebenza, but the guy who sold it to me told me that the paperwork for the knife was ruined when the store flooded. He thinks its not S30V, but its some other steel. I dont have a dig cam, but can anywone help me out with what other steel it might be in?
 
Congrats on the new sebenza,

Up until around 1996, ATS34 was the main steel then after that BG42 up until a few years ago. Current blades are S30V.
The S30V blades can be identified by a blade mark by the pivot.

Depending on the graphic you may be able to call CRK and ask them what blade steel was used with that particular design. Other than that I hate to bring this up but you probably paid way too much from those ripoff artists. I used to work for them part time and they take retail price and multiply it by .25. :eek: When you are ready for your next Sebenza e-mail me or PM me and I will meet up with you and take you to Knifecenter.com's warehouse. I am friends with the owner and can shop in the warehouse instead of ordering online plus will get you a Sebenza at the right price. Heck we can both get another one together. Either way, congrats on the awesome knife, regardless of what you may have paid for it.
 
Yeah I paid alot for it as you know, I called Chris and described it and he said it was made of BG42. I dont know a hole lot about this steel but hell the knife is damn sharp and its a sebenza so I love it.
 
by the way usafsp I am lookiing for another sebenza either a moonsong a ebony inlay with gold wiring, not sure, but I am saving.....thanks guys

I am getting a small stars and stripes tomorrow sometime around noon at Knifecenter, so if you want to go with me e-mail me. As far as paying too much, I was probably too harsh on you about that. As long as you are happy that is all that counts. After all it is a CRK and worth whatever you thought it was to you. Ebony with gold wire huh? I am sitting next to one right now. :p I will let you see mine if you want, but it isn't for sale. FOR ANY PRICE!!!! I called and asked about them and it is a special request but I am sure they will do it for you. I think they said it was an additional 200.00 option. I found a large one for sale on a website for 785.00 if you are interested.
