Howdy folks! Today I received my first CRK knife, the Sebenza 25 (thank you Joe!!). And boy what a piece of metallurgical art! I am thoroughly impressed. I have a few questions regarding it, to anyone who may have an answer or advice...

1. It feels a bit tight. I did try and adjust the pivot screw, to the point where it was not flush anymore, and it still seemed the same. I screwed it back to where it was. Now, I know it's not defective or anything, but do they all come this way? I just need to break it in, so to speak? I read where everyone says how silky smooth theirs is, and how little effort it takes to deploy.

2. Is the titanium just a regular bead-blast finish? I have a bead blaster at work, and have used it on other blades to clean them, and thought maybe when the surface gets scratched up, I could just blast it back to new. I know you can send it in, but I'm just curious.

3. When can I buy a micarta inlayed?? Haha, I know they're not available yet, but I can see that as my next purchase. Thank you..

The tight feel is subjective really. Some may think its tight others may think its not.
If its new just use it and see if it "breaks" in some.

The finish is sand blast I believe.

A small bit of use will make it smoother, yes.

You could bead blast it yourself. Whether or not it effects warranty is between you and CRK.

Be patient, no information is out about inlays.

It is tight I don't think tight is really subjective alittle bit yes. Had mine for a few days now loosened up the pivot alittle bit. After opening and closing it a decent amount it's already getting smoother.

Don't worry, it will smooth out with use. The tightness just means great tolerances imo. I've found that backing the pivot off just a little helped my 25:thumbup: Congrats on the fine blade!

Thanks for the replies, folks. The more I use this beauty, the more I like it. I'm getting a feel for the technique of opening it. Sometimes it only goes about ½ way, but a little wrist notion and it flies out. This thing just screams quality! I also like how the jimping is cut a tad deeper every 3rd cut, a bit like a serrated blade is ground. Very attentive to detail!

CRK attention to detail is superb, I have A LOT of their knives and can't wait for the small 25 to come out!
