Hi everyone,
I have been roaming around this site for a few weeks and trying to
convince myself that a Sebenza was "worth" it. Well when 3rdWound posted a small Sebenza for trade, I couldnt resist anymore. I am now awaiting delivery of a small classic Sebenza ! From everything I have read, I dont think I will be disappointed. :) Man, I hate waiting ! Anyways, once I get it I am sure I will have all sorts of questions for you guys. Cant wait to hold it in my hand and compare it to my MOD Trident, which is what I consider to be my "best" knife right now.

see ya,
Ram

The small classic Sebenza is my absolute favorite knife. One word of warning: you may feel slightly underwhelmed when you first see it. It's not particularly shiny or tactical looking, and, yes, it's small. Don't worry, the more you use your Sebenza, the more it will grow on you. The Sebenza is the epitome of function in a folder.

Enjoy!

I was looking at the small Sebenza because of it size. I like my EDC knife to be no larger then 4" folded, so the Small Sebenza fills that requirement. Currently, I carry an MOD Trident and its just a little too big for me. I am really anxious to get the knife. Hopfully it will be in the mail by tomorrow, so it will be in my hand by this weekend !!! And there is an airshow this weekend also in my area ! Life just doesnt get any better then this ! :)

Thanks,
Ram

The MOD trident is a great looking knife, though I have never handled one. A side to side comparison between the Trident and a Sebbie may best be done with a large Seb.

That said, keep in mind the significant differences in blade profiles between the Trident and small Seb. The Seb has, IMO, a more useful general purpose blade with a nice point. The Trident strikes me as a powerful slicer with the broad spear point blade.

Maybe the only thing you can compare is the fit and finish between the two. To be thorough on this point, you might want to take both knives apart for a detailed inspection.

Have fun with your new tool. The wait is a bummer.

Ram,

If you feel your MOD Trident is too big, then you will really like the small classic Sebbie. My main daily carry is my large custom Sebenza with a 3 1/2" blade. But I really enjoy my small classic too. It can preform some pretty big jobs for its size.
