I just got my first Sebenza. A large 21. Love it. I noticed that the lock sits slightly lower than the scale when the knife is closed. Is this normal?

Just a bit anal on stuff like this, so thanks for indulging me.

No. You have a faulty one. Throw it away.

:p

I think that's nothing to worry about, bunghole.

Kind regards,

Jos

Greetings Bunghole: The lock bar on your Sebenza sound normal. I just looked at three Sebenzas. The lock bar on my large 21 is about 1mm below the scale. Of the two small 21s I just checked, one lock bar is even with the scale and the other is about 1mm below. OldDude1

It's fitting into the dedent hole for blade retention, nothing to worry about.

OK. Thanks guys!

So far the most expensive knife I've purchased, so just wanted to make sure. I'm sure some of you know that feeling ;)

I have had many many sebenzas and this is normal........Congrats on your sebenza and welcome to the CRK Family

My one and only Sebenza is the same way. Same goes for my Mnandi, although the lock bar only sits about 1/64" lower, given it's smaller overall. Yes, the ceramic ball snaps down into the detent on the tang which is how it gets lower like that, as stated, but again here for your reassurance. N.O.R.M.A.L :)

only if you're careless, like shoving it in your pocket without the knife being completely closed.....
