Ok I just placed an order for a new Large Sebenza fom chris reeves website. Theyre backordered three weeks so i wont be getting it till next month but im SO EXCITED and wanted to share my excitment and get your guys opinion. what is you general opinion towards the knife- the good:thumbup: and the bad:thumbdn:- and im probably going to get a strider SNG after this and was wondering the same thing about that one. Thanks All! :D

here is how it will go: you'll be jacked when it arrives, think it's the greatest thing you ever bought, then in a day or two slight buyers remorse will kick in, " I could have spent less and gotten more wow factor or tactical look". Don't cave in to that, if you leave it in your pocket, for at least a couple weeks, you will love it for what it is: simple, beauty, function. And you'll be hooked.

Then if you're like me, you'll buy 12 more.

Concise and accurate - well said

Except for the 12 more part. I should have kept it to 12......

Yep same for me minus the remorse... the remorse was replaced by me ordering a second Sebe this one with dual thumbstuds within a week of getting the first. It is a very slippery slope my friend!

I never had any remorse :/

Well maybe a little. I should have started to throw out all the Chris Reeve boxes I have collected as they are starting to take up quite a bit of space.

I just picked up my 3rd a couple weeks ago and it's finally starting to break in. The only remorse I have is that I didn't order some flourinated grease and save on shipping. Cheapskate rocking a large Sebenza! :D

No remorse here, well i'd be lying if I said that. I have seller's remorse.

the only bad thing I can think of is that I don't have enough money to buy more!! I have a large sebenza and my large damascus sebenza should be in my hands in a month. I never tire of a) sharpening my sebbie b) opening and closing the blade -- I just love the feel of quality!! c) using it!

I have some serious remorse not picking up that large regular for $300 on the other forum a couple weeks ago. In fact I had another nightmare about it today. Lesson learned is to never seconds guess yourself when it comes to crks and just do it.

I just recieved my large sebenza 21 with rosewood and it is a well made knife. it reminds me of my MCusta but beefier. I tied my own paracord lanyard and love carrying it. enjoy your new tool!

Congrats on the new knife. Others have said it well. Buyers remorse will kick in, but keep using her, read the how to on taking the knife apart and cleaning it and KEEP USING her! That is how you get to appreciate the knife the most!

Hey Connor, i just ordered mine from them too....three weeks is what they told me also. I can't wait because i really appreciate things that are well built, and the 21 is going to have me amazed:)

Many said that you will never know till you have it in your hand and that's true!

I have been collecting Benchmade before getting my hand on a Sebbie by the end of 2010.
Since then I just can't stop loving it enough and started to let go my whole Benchmade collection to make room for the CR.
Since I pocket one I wouldn't want any others than just CRK,
For that, last week I just received my the 10th CR knife which is a prototype Ti-Lock and I'm sure will getting more and more.

The only 2 regrets I have are:
1st: I should have had CRK earlier so I won't miss out on many rare and those early annual editions of the CR's knives.
2nd: I don't live in US and I have to miss out on many nices CR in this forum as most sellers won't do international shipping T_T

Congreat man, you will be addicted.... hahaha

Thanks everyone! I didn't expect so many reply's right away. But here's another question for you. What is the general expectations for an SnG? I've heard that sometimes the fit & finish isn't up to snuff, such as slight blade play and blades that arent centered, uneven grinds... Etc. Has anyone had Problems in that area?

I could not agree more! Once you see the perfection offered from any CRK you realize that all other similar offerings just dont compare.

I'll admit that Striders are fun knives, tough, and utilize good materials. They are not, however, in the same league as CR knives by any quality standard. In reality, my Spyderco Military and ZT Hinderer are better made than the few Striders I've handled. But they are fun and worth trying if you get a chance.

+1. I have owned a few Striders and I will not own another. If they were $150 then sure. TERRIBLE build quality.

I'm 2/2 with Striders. The owners and the knives certainly are lightning rods. :D The build quality on the SnG and PT I've got is very good. Not CRK, for sure, but very good build quality, very stout for their respective sizes, great ergos. Whether they're a good value at $400 is a different question - I wouldn't argue that they are. They're certainly more than a $150 knife, though - or at least mine are. I'm not trying to pick an argument (because no one's ever going to win :D ) but I think there's room for somewhat different opinions on Striders. ;) I would agree with Steve's observations, fwiw.

I just received a Strider SMF with DGG and I'm sending it back for a refund(to include a new sebenza). My biggest issue with the Strider knife was its not a true pocket knife IMO, and all the uses I would put it through can be better accomplished with one of my fixed blades. I fell in love with my Sebenza and Umnumzaan straight out of the box, and was mortified when I held the Strider for the first time- Just a weird, clunky, off balanced knife for my needs. Its taught me a valuable lesson- I will only own CRK pocket knives from now on(unless Busse ever makes a folder).
