Well, I went to a gun show today (for knives) and finally got a Al Mar sere. Great knife. But... I ended up having to trade my skirmish for it. That sucks, but, on the up side I paid under $120.00 for the bm. The sere is much more of my perferd style of knife too, so I don't really mind. (Or at least I'm tryin not too.)
Somthing I found interesting is that the sere and my emerson socfk are remarkably similar in over all size and shape. Both are great knives I would say, but the sere feels much more solid (thicker liners and g-10). I was worried I might now like how low the sere rides your pocket, but it seem alright.
Any one happen to know what exactily S.E.R.E. stands for?

It stands for Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape. (I don't remember the exact order of the Evasion or Escape words though.) It was made for the US Army Special Forces school of the same name.

The original al mar sere was developed togeather by al mar and col.Nick Rowe in the 1980's for the army's s.e.r.e. school.the sere 2000 is said to out perform the original.
GCG you have it in the right order.
