New sharpening gear, Thanks for all the recommendations.

I haven't had much time to try them out yet. Sharpened an Endura i have & touched up a couple others, very happy with the results I'm getting. These are the first waterstones I've had & are exactly as I hoped. I used them on a VG-10 Endura. Reground the bevel with the 500 pretty quickly & produced a nice even clean bevel, and a surprisingly sharp edge. I could easily shave my arm hair & slice phone book paper in both directions. Finished it on the 2K GS with a quick strop on my jeans & it's very sharp, hair popping sharp with a lot of bite to it. I'm really happy with the edge the 2K GS produces. The DMT course is my first diamond plate as well. I tried it out on a S110v Manix, it produced a decent edge that was nice and aggressive. From what I read once it's broke in I can get a lot better of an edge off it. I like the way the plate feels & the clean even bevel you can get with it. This specific plate doesn't seem quite right to me though. I read a lot about it before using it So I new to use light pressure, and I'm pretty sure I used a lot lighter pressure than is even needed, yet along the edge of one side the Diamonds came off. And it doesn't seem flat as it should be. So I'm thinking I'm gonna return this one. I think I'm gonna put a little more money with it & just get an Atoma 400, I read on here that it would work great to flatten 500 grit & up waterstones. Only question I had is will it produce as good of an edge on my knives as a DMT course? Jason B told me for my steels like S110v that a Course DMT & 1micron diamond on balsa would produce a very sharp edge, so I wanted to see if a Atoma 400 would work just as well. So I also got the Balsa strop to use with 1micron diamond spray to finish edges on some my harder steals, just haven't received the spray yet. Told myself that since my order qualified for free shipping I might as well grab a knife or two. Ended up getting two Kohetsu Gyutos a 210mm & 240mm & am quite happy with them as well. All in all very happy with everything, just hoping I can get the DMT plate swapped out. I got "the look" from my gf when she checked the bank statement but it was worth it.
