Hi, I just posted a note "How to Make the Benchmade Axis Perform" in the Knife Reviews section. Why do Spyderco nuts care about that? Because Sal sent me a Spyderco 204 Sharpener, and my article is based around using that sharpener to get a recurved blade to perform like crazy. You can use the process with any recurved blade, I did the same thing with my Cold Steel El Hombre and got similarly spectacular results. Don't have any recurved Spyderco blades, so couldn't make one the star, sorry Sal! I don't think Spyderco makes a classic recurved blade anyway.

Joe,
Isn't thge 204 Sharpener wonderful? Got mine last Saturday at the Ironstone sale. Man oh man does it work! I've been using the Sharpmaker for better than 10 years, but the new model puts the old one to shame in speed and edge sharpness with minimal work. Almost too easy? Oh well, definitely a better mouse trap!

Joe,
Could you please explain the new back beveling feature for me? I'm not sure what the practical application of that is. Will I use the 204 differently from my 203? In the main position for the sticks is it the same degree angle that my current 203 is?

I hope these don't sound like dumb questions but since I don't have the sharpener in my hands yet, I figured I'd ask.

I should get it any day now.

Thanks,

~Greg~
