I have to say. I got a Basic 11 from a true Hog. I have been using it, and enjoying it, and even posting pictures of it. I don't think I have publicly thanked him yet.

THANK YOU.

Now, on to the sheath.

I just made a Basic 11 sheath. I had just about enough leather left to put some pants on this baby.

It is a fold over with a belt loop. I really rushed it. I did not punch the stitch holes like I normally do (something about the wife yelling at me when I woke the baby up at 10pm hammering the first hole). On a side note, remind me to go on the sub forum for sheaths and ask a way to make punching the holes easier. Drilling them with a hand drill and tiny bits works, but the holes just aren't as clean, and punching the holes by hand is impossible (or at least I don't know the trick). I have punched the sheath holes with the awl and hammer (and pliers to pull the sucker back out).

"Well........Big T, How did you cut that strap so straight?" You Ask?

Well, great question. I went into a saddle shop and bought a nice long strap. Then cut one end off, and punched some holes in that end (the other end was ready to go).

Well, pics or it did not happen I guess.

I decided I wanted a Baldric rig to go with the sheath.

Add a GW to the mix, and you have Big and Small.

I left way enough room on the welt to do a leg tie down if I decide to. The welt is pretty wide.

The sheath is tight enough I can't shake it hard enough to make the knife come out.

looks good

Nice good idea looks like your all set for your next outing into the wilderness with that rig.

Noice Dude! That is some serious leather. Nothing quite like making your own gear.

Thanks.

The only down side now, is I need to get some more leather. The city I live in now does not appear to have one (except the horse tack shop that is going out of business, which does not sell tools or leather pieces).
