Hello All,
Ive been a busy beaver, about two or three weeks ago I picked up an AK Bowie from the DOD, Ive been waiting for a wood handled bowie and when it came up I pounced. I am very impressed with the new bowie's coming out, I like the balance and the thinner spine compared to the old 1/2 inch spine blades. As always I like to make my own sheaths for my blades so I decided to do one for this and one for my 18" Ganga Ram that I got in a trade from a friend. Both were made from 8/9 oz leather, and stitched with artificial sinew. I did some stamping and texturing on both and used some new snaps I had. I really like how they came out. The colors look brighter in the light but they actually match very well. Hope you like the pic's and as always thanks for looking.

Thank You very much for the kind compliments, they are very much appreciated.

Those sheaths look good! The embellishment is simple and looks good. I like it. Those edges are really nice also. Keep up the good work!

Thank You again guys, I really appreciate it, Yesterday I upgraded my account to Craftsman and will offer my services to anyone interested in my sheaths. As soon as I can update my title I will post this to the general forum.

I sold my Ganga Ram a few years ago. I loved the knife, it really was a pretty thing. But it seemed totally impractical with the standard sheath. I live close to Claremore so I asked Terry about making something practical for it but he was busy with a million things already. Somebody offered me good money for the knife, so I sold it. Regret it... of course. Anyway, that sheath looks like it has potential. I especially like the way you made it with a swivel.

My son is 15 and a Boy Scout. Thinks he wants to stay in long enough to get his Eagle Scout. I've thought about gifting him a decent blade but lack of a really practical way of carrying something like a 15" HI has stopped me.

IMO... there is a real market for something like this.

Thank You very much, I have used the D-ring from the start, I like how it allows the blade to move with you without binding.
