New Sheath for Street Beat.

I have a Spyderco Street Beat and really like everything about the knife. I have had it for a while and have noticed that I don't carry it as much as some of my other knives ,including other fixed blades. The knife feels great in the hand and it's the perfect size for EDC, so why don't I carry it more? The only thing I can think of is that I don't like how the knife fits into the sheath. With most kydex or plastic sheaths, you hear a click when the knife is in the sheath, but with the streetbeat, you just don't get that click and it doesn't feel secure. I can shake it out if I try and it's an annoyance. Has anyone else noticed this? I am thinking about getting a leather sheath made for it. I would like to have a kydex or plastic sheath that would make the knife more secure so I could carry it sideways or upside down as a neck knife and not be wondering if the knife is going to fall out.

I have one and agree with you 100%. I love the knife too, but there is something about the design of the locking surfaces. Hard to describe, but every time I remove the knife, I have kydex debris on the base of the ricasso in front of my index finger.

I own a SB and it's one of my favourite blades.

Get in touch with Dwayne Puckett ( Armorleather ). He's registered as Leatherman on this forum. He's done a sheath for a SB in the past. You'll probably need to send the knife to him. I've had a knife sent to him, earlier this year. He made a great sheath for it. I trust him.... I love my blades and usually loath to ship them.

Get in touch with him. I'm pretty sure you can work something out. here are a couple pics of what He's done in the past for a SB.

P.s. If I could legally EDC my SB where I live. I'd rarely be without it:thumbup:
