It's been a while! I've browsed the boards every now and again, but my biggest surprise upon returning was the name change! I'll have to read more about that.

I noticed that there were some of you putting together some AR's and I figured I'd show mine along with a new sheath that Martin made for me. It's the second one he's made for me and if guys haven't seen his work you have to check it out. He does awesome stuff.

Since I'm trying to shoot at long distance now with my R700, I have been planning some long BLM trips and I wanted something I throw around in my pack and my RC-3 is perfect with this rig. The firesteel loop was not made for the ESSE fire-starter but it fit perfect. I can't wait to do some hikes and test out the rig.

Anyways, here are the shots! (I was testing my long lost photoshop skills so sorry if my pics look like I'm trying too hard)

Cool setup! Is the ESEE fire starter retained with friction or is there something positive to keep it there?

How is the retention on that fire kit? Looks great. I need to get my RC-3 soon but I want to wait for a special one. Any pics of the work while in progress?

This sheath is awesome! I can't get over how good it was made.

The fire starter is by friction. Again, it was not made for it, but it happen to fit very well.

Here's another shot:

iggy, I'm loving the gun pron pics.

With the ESEE fire kit, a person could do like they do with the ESSE Pack Kit: have a loop of shock cord through the hole in the handle of the fire kit, then stretch it over the rod portion to keep it from falling out of the firesteel loop on the sheath. Of course the firesteel loop would need to be a little shorter so part of the rod is exposed.

Copycat!:D Seriously, great looking sheath! I know i love mine. Martin does some excellent work. Watcha gonna put in the front pouch??
