New Sheath?

So I've been wanting to try out a neck knife and get my first Becker, and I've settled on the Becker BK11 (I like the look and bottle opener feature). But looking into it, it seems there was a problem with the sheath. Is the new sheath out yet, and if so, where can I get the BK11 and be sure I'm not getting the older one?

Hey TG, the new sheath is out, and all you have to do, is find your online dealer of choice, and give them a call to place the order. Most will go and check the box for you to see. I know Tomar's will, CRKS will, Newgraham, Dale at the Knife connection, and many others. You should be set.

And if for some reason, if you should recieve an older style sheath, just give Kabar a call and get you a new one, they are very helpful.

No, you'll have to buy it, but it won't cost very much. Hell, they might though, stranger things have happened.:D

I really wouldn't worry about it, as from what I can tell, most dealers already have the new sheaths in stock. Those BK11's and BK14's are pretty popular little fellas.

Ok, cool, I heard a rumor that you couldn't buy the sheath alone from them. Sounds like I'm good to go!

So what is this so called problem with the older version?

I have both and the only difference I can see is the older version has a little bit of rattle.
 
Rattle was one of the problems but the main problem that I heard about was that the sheath dulled the blade.
 
The looser fit and rattle allowed alot more edge to sheath contact, and was dulling the blades. Toooj took care of that, now, you get a more snug fit and less edge contact.
