Unless something unforeseen happens, we will break ground for the building this week. 34' x 80' the building will have classroom area, living quarters, kitchen & bath. As well as forge, and shop. We hope to start seminars concerning the Development of the High Performance Blade this year. Don't try to sign up yet, we will announce more as we progress. Just wanted to announce it here.
Will have a metallurgist on staff and significant otheres who have proven their dedication to high performance blade. For others, may have an extremely knowledgable man to conduct seminars on the English Bowies.

Our plan is to include everyone who wishes to explore the frontiers of the high performace blade, forged and stock removal.

Ed,

That sounds great!

It's a bit intimidating for us fledgling, weekend craftsmen.

Are you planning on some weekend type classes for the beginners?

Steve

Hmmmm..... I feel a need to haul some freight out west coming on .. Do ya have room for a big truck and trailer around there for a few days..:D ;)

Ed, can you give the rest of us a hint about where your new shop will be? You haven't any location info on your avitar or yoiur profile....

Dave

The shop will be 2 1/2 miles from Riverton Wyo. Jerry: There is plenty room for a semi, Glen just re-decked the bridge, some trees may dust the side of your trailer.

We plan on making classes for those who want them, there will be some weekend semimars it they are needed. Jerry may even put on a school for making extra doors in sleepers.

We can use some help, will keep you advised, will trade seminars for labor.

Now this gives me something to look forward too, I can't wait! Ed If there's anything I can do to help, just drop me an e-mail. Wont' be able to respond for a week though, on the rig right now.

Any idea how much the classes/siminars going to cost? Need to plan ahead

Thanks,

Will

Sure would be nice to have been born a rich brat. I would become one of them professional students. Just travel around and go to school. IF I knew then what I know now, whew.

Sounds great Ed!! Now about those door classes, we might have to leave out the portion about being thrown into the ditch upside down and the fuel bath, along with the smoking batteries above your head:) .

But then again, you knifemakers are a pretty hardcore bunch of knuts.

Looking forward to seeing this happen. If ya need some help I'll try to get some loads out there and spend a few days in the area helping with the construction . On a side note , have you guys had spring calving there yet , we had a great one here ,105 new little ones and lost 4.

Regards,
Jerry

Hey Ed, that's great! Count me in! I'll bring that journal that I told you about;)

I guess this means that the "High Performance Blade Association" is just around the corner too:D

Take care,
Rick

Hey Ed! I might have to swing by this spring and make sure the help isn't gettin' lazy on ya! Sounds like it's gonna be great!

I sincerely appreciate the offers for help putting it together. I talked to Glen last night, it appears we are only about 300% over budget, but since we did not do much paper work early in the game, it is OK. The way I see it, I spend fully 2/3ds of my life in the shop, it is going to be the place of my dreams.
Lybrary for all the books I have accumulated about knives over the past 50 years is mandatory.
Work environment that allows folks to participate without too much hazzard.
A place for visitors to stay, students who wish to bring family will have a place for them to stay and enjoy ranch life while the knife maker shares time about knives.
Finally a focal point for the associates of the High Performance Knife.

:D :D :D it's allways good to have good things happen ED
I'd like to make the trip sometime too. :D
