I was working on the final finish of the Bowie I just posted last night late.Sence it has been so warm here I have plenty of fans running, one is a big squirrel cage that blowes along the bench with the grinders.Well I was off in my zone and all of a sudden a small bug flies through the fans forced air and you won't believe this the little bugger flew straight in my EAR:eek: And I had to wake Donna up to dig it out. Then while forging today I had a bee land on my shirt that I didn't know was there and when I brushed against it with my elbow as I started forging a hot billet of Damascus the darned thing stung me on the side. But I couldn't stop as the metal was at welding heat and I didn't want to loose the heat..
So everybody wathch the darned bugs they seem to be thick now.;) :D ;)

Except for the scorpion Robert! :p

Hey Bruce, why don't you try blowing the fan the other way, like out the window so you create a draft that blows over you instead? Man, the next thing you're going to tell us is you've got ants in your pants! :D

1.73 in man you are going to flood, here in
Quartzsite it has not rained that much in three
years, and we have no bugs. Gib

I forgot last week we had some rain two minutes worth
that equels a coupel of dropes every two minutes

Only bugs left here are Scorpions, Gnats that bite, and Tarantulas. We haven't had 1/2" of rain in a year up here.

Were bad low on rainfall this year also,But when it rains it usually comes a flood and it all just runs off the hill.I guess the bugs are thicker at night when the lights are on seems like they swarm to the lights.
I might have to try the exausting way and see if that helps any.I know the big one in the smithy that exausts helps out a bunch in there but it is a little big for the shop.
Man you guys are killing me.I can remember when I lived in Phoenix and I loved the weather there.I guess I am just parcial to the desert,I have always loved the desert.

Since I live near the beach in Florida, we have our share of bugs, so I use a bug-zapper.Works great, bugs are drawn to it and electrocuted, great to watch also:D .Dave

Bugs and weeds love it in Iowa, so the spiders grow fat and lazy. Bats feast at sundown. It's a regular nature park here. Good thing my shop is indoors or I just wouldn't work.

Bruce you have the heart and huevos of an artist to work while a bee is stinging you!

Here in OK you gotta rub dryer shhets on you to keep the little nasty black mo-squeet-toes off ya. They found evidence of west nile in our county, and since I'm two miles from the river, they come up and try to have a party on your hide.

My dad's old neighbor had a bumble bee fly up his nose one time. He couldn't see out of his left eye for several days.

Hey Bugs, er Bruce:p
