After I finished my Blade Show knives in May, I pretty well took my shop apart and sold off some of my equipment. Moved seven hours down the road.

Last week I finally got the foundation poured for my new shop. Going to be 18 x 24 enclosed, with an 18 x 24 carport.

Bolt together metal building kit should be here in a few weeks. Goal is to get things together enough to make knives for Blade TX after Christmas. I’d be surprised if I’m able to make any before then. Depend on how much help I can get putting the building together.

I'll come watch, drink your beer and give crappy advise😂😂😂

Saturday's the "big day," assuming the missing parts I identified last weekend come in from the building guy. If they don't, I'll build the carport anyway and finish the enclosed building when the parts arrive.

And after 3 months of drought, it's supposed to rain all weekend. Figures.

I recently had an 8 X 12 metal building put up as a yard barn. Didn't think much more about it until I went out to it after a couple of rainy days. It was full of water.
The contractor does a lot of work for me, and he sent a guy over last Friday to fix it. We'll see...

Regardless, you built it yourself, so it should be right. I still suggest testing for leaks during the building process so you don't have to go back later.

Nice shop!

Here’s my fancy plan.

7 2-gang boxes of plugs. 2 220 outlets by the door for hydraulic press and welder. 220 on the back wall for grinder.

4x 8 ft LED fixtures plus an extra over the grinding bench.

Should be as bright as the sun, with a plug everywhere lol.

Looking like I'll run 100 amp sub panel to power the shop.
20 amp 220 for my grinder
30 amp 220 for my Lincoln 180 wire welder
40 amp 220 for my hydraulic press
2 15 amp circuits for lights
4 or 5 15 amp circuits worth of plugs

I have a random assortment of wire I've picked up lots of places, but will have to buy some for the heavier runs.
