Welcome back Yangdu.

It's good to see the deals back up again, even if I don't have the money. It's also good to see a new kamis work. Looks like he cut the fuller on the AK fairly deep, interesting look. Good deals all around today.

Good Heavens! I'll take the 16" WWII by Bura -- way too nice to pass up.

Now -- I'll need some instructions on what to do next from my friends on this sub-forum.

Just e-mailed Yangdu through the BF link...

Great choice, OP. Your first khuk, right?

Sadly, you are right. I've been getting advice from HI Forumites and waiting for the right beginner's khuk.

Yangdu tells me the pictured one is gone...but will sell me another she has for same price. So...I'm a happy Knife Knut!

Hello all from Canada! My apologies OldPhysics, it was me that managed to snag the WWII (just received my email reply from Yangdu). This one is also going to be my first HI Khuk. I've made attempts in the past to purchase from the deals pages with negative results. I honestly didn't think I had a chance with this one, so I am very elated at my success. I'm also happy that you will be getting one for yourself at the same price. Looking forward to receiving my new Villager. I'll post pics and details as soon as it arrives. Guess it begins now doesn't it...

Cheers,
highspeedlowdrag.

You guys are both in DEEP trouble...

BTW, the BGRS (leftmost) is a great first khuk, too. Very similar dynamics as the WWII.

Oh, I'm familiar with these doom scenarios.

I own Busses.:D

Congrats, HSLD! Don't think I hold it against you, at all. First man (person?) wins!! And, after all, I'm getting a lovely consolation prize.

i'll take the 17 inch 25 ounce villager fit and finish Ganga Ram by Bura. e-mail also sent.

just got my e-mail response from yangdu:thumbup: ... my first HI:thumbup:  ...my trousers are gettin tight:) :) :)

Thanks OP. Didn't think you'd mind after I read your last post re. the "consolation prize". My wife wanted to get me something for a belated Father's Day gift, and it first started out as an American Tomahawk VTAC. I can do without the VTAC for a while but I knew the Villager WWII wouldn't stick around for long - so I jumped on it instead...

I figured as much Aardvark... I've been collecting (factory) production knives for over 15 years. Emerson, Benchmade, Spyderco, etc... I've wanted to acquire a khuk for just as long. Lurking over here and drooling over all of the forumites' pieces sort of pushed me over the edge. Guess I'll have to start putting some cash away for the next one(s)...

Cheers,
hsld.

Well, younger brother, can I direct your attention to the Busse sub-forum? Sounds like you are ripe...for some SERIOUS knives. If you like Khuks...well, drop by the Busse sub-forum(s) some time and take a look around. Tell 'em OP sent you...

I haven't seen one of these before. . . Is it something new, or just one of those models that isn't listed on the HI web site but makes an occasional appearance on the DOTD posts? I hope more of them show up. I like the smaller khuks for some reason. I guess because my main interest is in using them when hiking and backpacking. I was planning on a 12 inch AK for my next purchase, but I think I may try out a Bojpore if another one shows up when I have some money to spend on a new knife.

<pawing through the FAQs and forum rules...> grumble... there's GOT to be something in here about "enabling"... Ah, here it is: "encouraged"... "required". ?? Never mind, then.

There is no such thing as "enabling"... only helping a traveler find superior tools and accoutrements- which it is your duty as a forumite, brother and good guy to share that info. :D
