Or maybe it's a really BIG bowie?

Blade: 16-1/2" of L6. I hand sanded it to 400 grit and treated it with mustard. My goal with this piece was to make it look rustic and sort of primitive.

Hilt: wrought iron guards and peen block. The wrought was etched to give it some texture. Osage orange core with dark brown hemp cord wrap, soaked in resin. The handle was inspired by the Spartan sword from "300".

Your thoughts are, as always, welcome. :-) Sorry for the glare in the pictures. I should have used a background of some kind. :o

I like the blade......I'd probably hurt my hands on the guard. Looks cool though:thumbup:

beautiful finish on the blade. usually mustard looks splotchy and inconsistent. it looks almost like wood grain :)
 
that's pretty damn cool! It would look nice beside that bronze sword you made.
 
That is really cool. The hilt perfectly compliments the blade.
