New Show - Wild Within

I've seen some advertisements about a new outdoors show on the Travel Channel - Wild Within. Show is on Sunday evening starting January 9. I checked their website and seems interesting. Hunter-gatherer in different locals.

Yea, I have been seeing a ton of commercials for the show, it looks like it could turn out to be pretty interesting.

Anyone know what saw that is?

Haven't seen any commercials since I don't watch TV but went through the links above. It gives me the impression that this is angled at a kind of survival cooking show which I think is kind of a cool concept. You get to see the hunting/gathering aspect and wild edibles and preparation method without too much (hopefully) side lining on other topics. I'll be looking forward to hearing how this one comes about. My worries about it are that the show will get too eclectic in selecting scenic locations for the eye candy and drama which I felt was one of the problems with Dual Survivor.

I have felt that way about every survival show, and I have just accepted that is the it is going to be. The only one that came close to not being "too electric" was Survivor Man. I doubt this one will be anything different, it is just how the producers get the average joe interested.

Man, you said it! "The Alaska Experiment" happened to be on the TV the other day; some city people were huddled around a downed small aircraft for a week. They had a .410 shotgun, and a .45 cal. (?) rifle; real assets in a survival situation.
It was downright embarrassing watching them hunt. The two girls who were out "hunting" finally resigned themselves to do housework around the shelter.
