I have moved away from the traditional Brass, Stainless and Ti liners on my slip joints and here are some recent folders where I have just used G10 liners and some nice handle material

Nice designs, cleanly crafted. I will say they would hold more appeal to me with stainless liners, possibly even natural handle materials. Please keep in mind that I do like the knives shown and that I am only giving my opinion, which is swayed by my life long love of traditional folding knives.
With that said, thank you for sharing.

Chris, I also love the traditional folders. I see my knives as a type of modern classic. The materials used, in opinion, will outlast about any other. Thanks for the nice comment.

JD,

Are you saying that these liner less knives will outlast stainless liners? With that said I think they are great looking but I am just leery of the Micarta liners.

Jeff a while ago I over peened one and basically it could not open or close. The G10 being synthetic I assumed that it would be easy to just force it and lap in the blade till it was working smooth. After about an hour the blade was still stuck with no wear on the liners. They are extremely tough. I have made my share of linerless folders with no comebacks at this stage. I use one myself.

BEAUTIFUL work, Sir.

There must be something to his assertion, as the Al Mar Ultralights have been around quite awhile as production knives w/linerless micarta. If bent, warped or broken scales were an issue, it sure seems as though it would've surfaced on those wafer-thin slabs they use on those models.

Here is one of mine that JD made. A pleasure to carry and use……….:)
