I've made less than 10 slip jkoints so far, but here's the last couple. I was working on two for Ken Hurst to engrave and had a couple otheres going at the same time. Finished these up first to pay for a piece of black lip that didn't go my way......

Nice work. I like the idea of the little bumps for pinching the blade. Seems like you would be able to get a good hold on it.

Nice!
Those opening bumps are a real inovation! Super idea!

I also realy like the flat bevel to the front of the bolster... longer than I've seen it done before, and its nice, doesn't break up the overall rounded lines at all, but a nice contrast in shape... :)

Thanks for the comments guys. The nail stud was not something I came up with, a good friend of mine Jerry Mcclure showed it to me and I'm not sure where he saw it first. I have had reports of it being on some 1800's pocket knives. I'm going to see if I can find some pictures. Thanks again Ryan

Kaj Embretsen uses the nail studs a lot in his lockback knives and has for some years -- usually yellow gold, sometimes white gold. I don't think I've seen one of his slipjoints with the studs, but I've only seen maybe 5 or 6 of them.

I would be most interested in seeing some 1800's knives with this - don't think I've ever seen this on one from that era before.

I haven't either, but I've had a couple guys tell me about them. I'll pass along anything I find.

Nice, they look like they would be very stout users.

Very nice looking knives Ryan. I especially like the look of that tapered bolster on the second one.
